Project Runway

I know that I am not the only one out there obsessed with my weekly dose of frantic fashion designers and over flowing ‘tude on the fabulous show Project Runway. I have, like many of you been addicted to each season and this one has been no different – I love the drama, I love the judges sordid comments, and most of all, I love the innovative designs and the wonderful talent that emerges as a result of the show. The final episode of season 5 is right around the corner (14 days away) and I am at best under-whelmed by the looks I have seen from this group as of last week’s lack-luster episode, when the assignment was evening wear and everyone’s final look was “so, so” (and that’s being nice).

From the get-go I was loving Kenley’s 1950’s looks complete with ditzy florals and fem. shapes… She had

some doozies though, like her most recent evening look that was subtly serpentine and not at all sexy. She stuck by her style though and defended it to the end, in fact almost getting into a slight altercation with the host Heidi Klum. Ah! The drama. The others in the final four have also had some good moments – Leanne for instance always comes up with an innovative silhouette, Korto’s strength is designing for women of the average size or larger, and Jerrell seems to always pull out something tasteful and wearable. Now, when you see the work that these four have put out and know the time constraints they are under you are most likely thinking that they’re designs are pretty good, compared the final products that we saw in season 4 and even season 3 you may share in my disappointment of this group’s performance last week and may be a little anxious to see what pops out on the final runway!

That all being said, I am still eagerly anticipating the finale where these talented designers will get their chance of proving their style sense and will show at New York Fashion Week. I couldn’t help but log onto Bravotv.com to get a sneak peek at what we might be seeing at Bryant Park… and I was mesmerized by a completely glam Swan Lake style feather frock done by none other than Kenley! After seeing that glam look I am confident that with time on their side these designers will pull out the best they’ve got and give us all a good show!

So, who do I think will win? Kenley has been pretty consistent throughout the show and stands a pretty solid chance, but Leanne always

seems to wow me with her minimalistic yet structured looks that are so innovative and current. She has definitely created pieces that are unlike the cookie cutter design. Enjoy these final shows!!! I know I will.

I’d love to hear what all of you think! Comment on who you think has the strongest chance of winning and why!

I love Kenley! I know that she has a mouth…but I really want to see her win!

Who do you think….or do you know who doesn’t make it to Bryant Park.

I have been a fan of Kenlly all season. I think her attitude is terrible though. She does not do well with constructive criticism. How dare she talk back to Heidi!!! I really love leannes lady like silhouettes. Jerrell is fab, what else can i say!!!

Well I hope that Kenley wins…but I am always wrong about you wins. It’s never who I want it to be.

PS-Even though I wasn’t a fan of his stuff. My favorite outfit of the season was Suede 1st dress. (I think it was the first win) It was short with red & cream ribbon. I loved it!

Anybody else want to share their favorite! Or least favorite!

I agree with you two! I think Kenley’s attitude is terrible, but they’ll definitely let her go onto Bryant Park simply because her cockiness makes for good television and you can’t deny that her designs are well crafted and typically beautiful. I am betting on Leanne and Kenley as finalists for sure – If everybody’s stuff is really good tomorrow night, they may let everyone compete again!

After last nights episode I have to say i hope Leanne wins!! While Kenleys dress certainly was a dream, it was an obvious Alexander McQueen that just recently came down the runway!! M Kors speaks the truth!!! Leannes was so fantastic!!! any brides dream come true. As well it was original. Jerrel deserved to go home last night, his dress looked dirty and rumpled. I do love his last comment about how he embelishes things “if you want a plain white tee, go to Michael Kors, thats not what i do” pretty funny!!!
